Saint Francis receives the stigmata and God the Father – Church of San Salvatore al Monte – Florence

The first stained glass window, rectangular in shape, shows one of the most important episodes of the life of Saint Francis, that is to say, the moments he received the stigmata on Mount Verna, in Arezzo, in 1224.

The second, bearing the coat of arms of the Peruzzi family, shows the Creator God, in full figure, surrounded by cherubim.

The attribution of the works is not certain: they could have been realized either by Perugino, his workshop, or a master strongly influenced by the Umbrian master.

The stained glass windows are preserved at the church of San Salvatore al Monte in Florence.
