Hampton Court Palace – London

Hampton Court Palace, London’s historical royal palace, has very ancient origins: initially used to welcome the Knights Hospitaller, thanks to the mediation of Henry VIII is acquired in 1514 by Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, Archbishop of York and Prime Minister, the structure was expanded to create one of the most luxurious palaces of the Kingdom, which the royalty also chose as residence over the centuries: in fact, this place is also knwon as “the house of Henry VIII” or “the Tudor’s Palace” nowadays.
However, during the eigteenth century the Palace lost its living purpose, so, thanks to Queen Victoria, it was opened to the public in the mid-nineteenth century, as a museum site. Around the structure, a beautiful maze of hedges, considered an excellence of Great Britain.
