Church of Santa Maria Assunta – Cerqueto (Perugia)

The building of Santa Maria Assunta church dates back to a period previous than 1163: in this year, the church is mentioned in a document written by the Emperor Frederick “Redbeard” I.

The church of Santa Maria Assunta presents an only aisle structure, with a squared apsis and a wooden choir behind the altar. The aisle is composed of four spans, hosting altars inside arches in the central two spans.
